Killeavy GAC promotes the awareness and increased usage of the Irish Language in a number of highly visible and meaningful ways.

All visitors to Páirc Cuimneachán pass under the gaelic art style name plate (shown below).  The inscription translates to: Memorial Park, Killeavy – To commemorate those who fought for Ireland’s freedom.

The most practical example of our promotion of the Irish Language is our annual scholarships to the Gaeltacht.  With the permission of the Parish priest, a church door collection is made each St. Patrick’s Day.  All monies received are distributed to children from the parish who are attending Irish Language courses in the Gaeltacht.  We also actively promote the County’s scholarship scheme.
